Genesis The Greykid
“THE POET”
From poetry, to music, to art, Genesis has been a force in multiple realms of the art world by mastering the use of words. Prior to his visual art career, he was co-signed by the media label Creative Control TV with filming duo/CEO's Coodie & Chike. After his "Grey Matter" project in New York City with Creative Control TV, Genesis assisted creative outlets in Tennessee and Virginia by bringing their attention to artists dealing with political and social issues, eventually leading to poetry/creative workshops with various non-profits and art communities in Chattanooga, TN. After spending part of 2016 travelling 5,800 miles around the country by train and foot, Genesis was inspired to gather all of the poems he'd written along the way, and turn them into large poetic mantras. Using oil paints, Genesis created 12 large-scale fine art pieces to express his poetic travelling experience, featuring them in his 1st exhibition, Through the Grey- a now recurring exhibit with the goal of pushing poetry beyond its boundaries. Aside from selling artwork around the world, typically to a private network of diverse patrons, he is also behind the official "Brothers" painting, noted in Forbes as the last secular song recorded by rapper Kanye West, featuring vocals from singer Charlie Wilson, produced by Seven, Irv Gotti, and Bink!. In the summer of 2021, his diamond dusted piece, Computer Love, was sold in the Phillips auction in London, UK.
